Breastfeeding Myths
Myth: If my baby is nursing every hour, I can't be producing enough milk. Fact: Often cited as a main reason for not breastfeeding, only about 1% of women are physically unable to produce enough breastmilk for their babies. Low supply can be avoided if you steer clear of unnecessary interventions such as formula supplementation or skipping feedings without stimulating your breasts through pumping. It is very important to remember that breastmilk production works on supply and demand so more nursing or pumping can maintain and often increase your milk.
